Studied under the second generation in 1971. He brilliantly inherited the techniques passed down from the first generation and the feelings put into Ichimatsu dolls, and became the third Shosuke Motoga in 1981. He is a certified craftsman of the Japan Hina Doll Association, was selected for the "Doll Exhibition 50th Anniversary" at the Kyoto Hoken-ji Temple Doll Public Exhibition, and received the Osaka Prefecture Excellent Skilled Worker Award "Naniwa no Meiko" in 2007, among many other accolades. He has created dolls for museums both in Japan and abroad, such as the Osaka Museum of History and the Chini Coles Museum, and is a world-renowned Ichimatsu doll artist, having performed kimono dressing demonstrations at the Japanese Consulate in Seattle, USA.
