I made a vertical tote bag from a luxurious, auspicious ivory-colored fukuro obi (formal obi). This is a fukuro obi with gorgeous and elegant embroidered patterns. A thin obi core is inserted into the outer fabric. It is sturdy because of the luxurious embroidered surface. The plain part of the same obi is used for the lining. I added a two-compartment inner pocket. The handles are made to be sturdy.
