The Müller brothers, originally from the Moselle region on the French-German border, honed their glassmaking skills under Gallé after evacuating during the Franco-Prussian War. They became masters of Art Nouveau glass, and this piece, created with meticulous care by them from around the 1910s to the 1920s, utilizes vitrification-colored glass. It has an acid signature. The shade glass, with its beautiful vitrification colors of pale green, blue, brown, and yellow, is stunning. Furthermore, this Müller lamp is unusually made with uranium glass.
