His grandfather was Ise Sadataka. His father was Ise Sadayoshi. His siblings included Sadatame and Ako no Otobone (though this is disputed). He was a researcher of the Ise school of court and samurai etiquette. He wrote the "Ise Sadaoki Hentoshosho" as a book on samurai etiquette.
