Album Title: The Horace Silver Quintet / Finger Poppin' Horace Silver, a star artist on the prestigious jazz label Blue Note, has left behind numerous albums, and this one is also one of his representative works as a driving force behind the funky boom. The members are a group of talented musicians: Blue Mitchell (tp), Junior Cook (ts), Gene Taylor (b), and Louis Hayes (ds). The energetic members of the hard bop heyday are delivering a smooth performance. The coated jacket has scratches, yellowing, and damage to the spine and corners due to aging. The record has some scratches (see photo 9), and there are a few instances of popping noise and small surface noise, but overall it is in good condition and you will be overwhelmed by the powerful vangelder sound. There is aging, but it comes with the original company sleeve. This title has been repressed and reissued many times, but those close to the original, like this record from the early 1960s before the Liberty acquisition, have a weighty feel to both the jacket and the record, and I think it is quite valuable.
