"Fukagawa Seiji" was founded in the 27th year of Meiji (1894) by Fukagawa Chuji of the Fukagawa family, who lit the kiln in the Keian era of the early Edo period in Arita, the birthplace of porcelain. Fukagawa products with the "Fuji Water Flow" backstamp are highly regarded as high-quality porcelain and are widely distributed overseas. In the 43rd year of Meiji (1910), they became purveyors to the Imperial Household Agency and still have many fans today. Hyakunen-an of Fukagawa Seiji is the name of the tea room in the villa of the first Fukagawa Chuji, and it has also become a series of porcelain.
