This is a Karatsu-yaki, kohiki (white slip) sake cup. The artist is Bob Okazaki. Size: Height 5.5cm, Rim 7.0cm It has a striped pattern with unevenness, providing a good grip. Robert "Bob" Okazaki was born in Stockton, California in 1942, a fourth-generation Japanese American. He studied Japanese culture for two years as an exchange student. After graduating from university, he apprenticed under Bizen potter Yu Fujiwara. He held an exhibition at Tenmaya. From 1976, he apprenticed under Takashi Nakazato. Later, after working at the Taroemon Kiln, he became independent and established the To-ri Kiln.
