This is a remade item from a cotton kasuri kimono. It's a fluffy, voluminous tunic with gathers on both front and back shoulders. The neckline and cuffs are bias-bound, and secured with sashiko thread using a drop stitch. The two large side pockets are also embellished with playful sashiko thread. The sashiko thread is a random mix of yellow-green and yellow. It has been home-laundered and ironed, but there may be needle marks and creases that cannot be removed. We hope you appreciate this as part of the charm of kimono remakes. You can wear it year-round: as a single layer in summer, or over an inner layer when it gets cold. (I also wear it, and find it comfortable in summer, and over a turtleneck in winter. The indigo-dyed cotton kasuri looks great with jeans. Even faded ones worn for several years can be worn like a kitchen apron. The short sleeves don't get in the way of water work, and the large pockets are very useful.)
