This is a Tankei inkstone that has been tuned by Minista (by remodeling the ink well and ink surface to improve the inkstone's performance). The inkstone has a plum blossom carved on it, and jade streaks can be seen throughout the stone pattern. The stone has a nice feel. The ink grinds exceptionally well, and the ink smoothly grinds and releases ink. The ink color is good from dark to light ink, and it produces gradations, and the ink spreads well, so I think you can write long, good lines. Good for kana (up to full-size paper), kanji (up to half-size paper), and ink painting.
