It is not considered impolite to use this kittebon when offering monetary gifts to a monk during general memorial services or Buddhist ceremonies. However, when attending a wake or funeral to offer condolences, or when visiting a temple to make an offering, it is customary to carry the money wrapped in a fukusa (a type of wrapping cloth). Since both items are included as a set, why not keep them on hand? We will ship the item in its original box.
