This is a two-piece nagajuban (long undergarment) with a dyed pattern, worn under a maiko's susohiki (trailing skirt). This item will not be listed again. It is believed to be a very valuable item. Maiko wear a solid red nagajuban under their black montsuki (formal crested kimono) and tsukesage (semi-formal kimono), but they use this patterned one for everyday susohiki. It is long and can be wrapped up to the chest during dressing, or folded in half at the waist to adjust the body shape. It can be used in various ways. A new, finished two-piece nagajuban made from bolt fabric costs around 100,000 yen. I actually used this, but I'm selling it because I got a new one. I had it washed and stretched this time, but there are a few snags, so I can't use it for the ozashiki (banquet). The snags have been mended with a backing fabric about 1 cm long, so you can be assured that the damage will not spread.
