This rubbing was taken at the Kagoshima Locomotive Depot approximately 51 years ago. At the time, I was given permission to enter the depot and was able to freely wander around the locomotives. I believe this generosity was due to the kindness of the depot staff towards SL (Steam Locomotive) fans. It's something you wouldn't see today. Of course, I took photos during the visit, and I also climbed onto the locomotive to take this rubbing. I cut roll washi paper to the size of the plate and rubbed it with soot from the locomotive to bring out the image. As this rubbing is from about half a century ago, some deterioration due to aging is unavoidable. Please be aware of this.
