This is a small size kobukusa (tea cloth) used during tea ceremonies with a chabako (tea box) or chitosebon (a type of tea tray). Note: Size is approximately 12cm x 13cm. It's about two sizes smaller (3cm around) than a regular kobukusa, so it's perfect as a coaster for matcha tea bowls, regardless of the school of tea. ❤️ 【Dimensions】 With the "wasa" (folded edge) on the right: Width 13.2cm x Height 12.2cm. It is made with a pattern, but please allow for slight variations. 【Sewing Method】 Hand-sewn (traditional sewing method). Three sides are sewn, and the shortest side is the "wasa" (folded edge). ❤️ Since it's new, there are no creases in the center. When folding it in half, place the "wasa" on the right side, choose your preferred side as the front, and fold it in half. 【Fabric】 Pure silk, Shioze (a type of silk crepe). The color is purple. The dye of the pattern is firmly dyed onto the Shioze fabric, so the patterned part is firm and slightly stiff. There is a tiny bit of gold foil on the flower centers. The material is the patterned part of a Shioze obi (sash) that has been stored for a long time. The pattern (white cyclamen) is elegantly expressed on the dignified purple Shioze ground, so you can also display it and admire it. The last image is a similar small kobukusa I made for myself. So, if you purchase this kobukusa, you will have the same one as the maker (me). ＊White Cyclamen: Cyclamen is said to have been used by King Solomon for his crown. The flower meanings are "purity," "consideration," and "careful judgment," representing purity, kindness, and attentiveness, making it perfect for winter gifts.
