These are originally scraps of fabric used for making costumes for Hina dolls (Japanese dolls displayed during the Doll Festival). All six pieces have the same pattern. The weave is firm, and they are originally backed with interfacing, giving them body (see images 6 and 7). I think they would be convenient for handmade items such as handbags and table runners.
