This is a raden (mother-of-pearl inlay) hair ornament made by Gyokuzan. It belonged to my grandmother, who was a master of Ikebana (flower arrangement) and was born in the Taisho era. Raden is applied to the center of the peony flower, and unlike other kanzashi with the same maki-e (sprinkled picture) technique, it sparkles and gives a very gorgeous impression. The design would also be suitable for young people's coming-of-age ceremonies or graduation ceremonies. My mother kept it as a memento, but rather than leaving it unused, I thought it would be better for the item to be used by someone and brought back into the spotlight, so I decided to sell it to someone who will cherish it. Therefore, we ask that those who intend to resell the item refrain from purchasing it. I have other kanzashi for sale as well. Also, it has been stored carefully for a long time, but it is a home-stored item, so please refrain from purchasing if you do not understand vintage or antique items or if you are a nervous person.
