I made a two-layer drum obi (fukuro obi) into a pre-tied obi. The obi is separated into the taiko (drum) part and the part that wraps around the waist. The waist part is free size and is 1.9 meters long. It does not have a stiffener. It is secured with Velcro, so you can extend the obi's crest for storage, and it won't get creases. You can store it in a tatoushi (obi storage paper), so you can enjoy the beauty of the obi just like with a long obi. ◎ Information on the Obi Pillow Base Since the two-piece obi without fasteners tends to slip down, using the separately sold obi pillow base will keep the taiko from slipping down, providing peace of mind.
