This is a brass snare drum from the legendary Slingerland Radio King, a representative masterpiece. The size is 14x5 inches. The hoops are also made of brass. This is one of the phantom Radio Kings, produced in only a small number in the early 60s. Among them, this is a very rare early model with no center bead on the shell. While many single-ply maple Radio Kings exist, this brass Radio King is almost non-existent, and fetches high prices among overseas collectors. This is an exceptionally rare snare drum even among the ones I've owned. It has a superb vintage sound with excellent overall balance. It has been cleaned and maintained, including greasing.
