This is also something I received from an antique shop in Gion, Kyoto. I used to visit this shop every time I went to Kyoto, listening to various stories. The shop is run by a woman who is very knowledgeable, and she taught me a lot. I have a wealth of knowledge and items thanks to her! The lid and the high platform both say "Bunka Nen-sei," so I know it's a work from the early 1800s. Two horses are depicted in pairs in four places, looking friendly. It's probably a design wishing for family prosperity and the birth of grandchildren. The colors are also enjoyable, dyed in many different hues, and I think I'll enjoy using this every time.
