This exquisite piece is a spinning top natsume from the Meiji era, featuring intricate hair-line carving and gold inlay by Suigun Seki, a renowned master of chinkin (gold inlay) in Yamanaka lacquerware. It is in very good condition with no noticeable damage other than extremely minor scuffs, and shows little sign of use. Although it does not affect the use of the item, the original wooden box lid is missing, so it is replaced with a handmade paper lid (see photo 13), and therefore offered at a low price.
