This is a Wajima-nuri (lacquerware) dining tray. It's a piece with the refined Sumi-fuketsu (corner-cut) design characteristic of Kaiseki utensils, and the exquisite vermilion lacquer is striking. It's a rare vermilion-lacquered piece, as most Kaiseki utensils are black lacquered. There is a very small dent as shown in image 11, but overall it is in good condition. The size is 30.5 cm on each side, and 2.4 cm in height. Please understand that this is an antique item.
