Since it has a trumpet shank, you can play it like a trombone with a trumpet mouthpiece. The slide operates smoothly. I bought it but never had a chance to play it, so I'm offering it for sale in the hopes that someone who will cherish it can use it. I don't think there are any dents. There are no noticeable scratches, but there are some minor scratches and scuffs from use. Please refrain from purchasing if you are concerned as this is a used item.
