Laguiole is a small village in the Aveyron department in southern France. Cutlery production has been thriving there since the early 19th century, and it has become widely known for its elegant design and high quality, handcrafted by artisans. The bee motif is said to have been allowed to be attached to swords to honor the soldiers of Laguiole village who were active on the battlefield, as it was the imperial crest of Emperor Napoleon.
