This is a set of 16 "Leap Year Limited Pilgrimage Commemorative San-ge" received during a pilgrimage of the Shikoku 88 Temple Pilgrimage in the leap year of 2016 (Heisei 28). These feature a special design awarded only in the commemorative year of the reverse pilgrimage. As they are difficult to obtain now, they are ideal for those looking to complete their collection or keep them as mementos of their pilgrimage at that time. This year was a very special one, said to have triple the benefits of a "reverse pilgrimage" (gyaku-uchi), in commemoration of the legend that En no Gyōja was able to reunite with his past self when Kōbō Daishi walked the pilgrimage in reverse.
