I play drums, percussion, and occasionally acoustic guitar in a band. All the instruments I'm selling are ones I've tested myself and can confidently recommend. Authentic Chajchas are made from the nuts of the mychil tree and goat hooves, but since neither are available in Japan, I made these from pistachios. I've cleaned, dried, and polished the empty shells and filled them with beads. I always pair each pistachio shell with its matching half to restore its original shape. While they don't produce as loud a sound as mychil Chajchas, each one acts like a bell, creating a more complex, rattling and shimmering sound! Chajchas are used more for creating ambiance and soothing sounds than for musical purposes. Shaking them continuously produces a pleasant sound similar to a babbling brook. They can also be effective for babies who cry at night (though this is not guaranteed). There may be scratches and stains due to the natural materials used. Please understand this before purchasing.
