This is a traditional, handmade wooden lacquerware piece. It has a lacquer finish. The inside of the confectionary container has no pattern, but the outside surface features delicate hand-carving (I believe), giving it an elegant and warm feel. There are some minor scratches on the inside, but my grandmother kept it with great care, so I would like to pass it on to someone who appreciates it.
