This is a compotier from the HB & Cie Choisy le roi (Choisy-le-Roi) Louis XIII series, featuring the "Snow" (La neige) pattern. I purchased it from an online auction in France. This type of compotier is rarely seen even at French flea markets. I believe it's also difficult to find this series of compotiers for sale in Japan currently. However, there are chips, cracks, stains, and signs of age on the surface and back. I hope to pass it on to someone who appreciates it as evidence of its long history as an antique, or who enjoys the aesthetic of kintsugi (gold repair).
