He became familiar with martial arts such as Judo and Karate from the age of 12 and joined the Kanagawa Prefectural Police at the age of 23. While on duty, he was shocked to find that the martial arts he had trained so hard were useless at actual crime scenes. Through experiencing numerous intense situations, he strongly realized that his own mental state influenced his body and the surrounding space. Since then, for 20 years, he has continued to study the relationship between mind, technique, body, and space in practical situations, naming it Mind-Body Technique. After retiring at the age of 43, he continues to research reality-based martial arts and mind-body balance, and is dedicated to instructing younger generations through seminars and training sessions.
