This is a late-period piece from the Susie Cooper Pottery, bearing the design name "VENETIA" (cup only). It is believed to be inspired by Renaissance designs seen in Venice, the city of water in Italy. The subdued sepia tones may have been a preference of Susie's in her later years. Although made as a teacup, it is a can-type and seems suitable for coffee as well. The saucer has some depth. Regarding the backstamp, the saucer and cake plate differ from the cup (these are stamps from after Wedgwood took over).
