His major works include "Bullfight" and "The Ice Wall" (contemporary novels), "Furin Kazan" (historical novel), "Tempyo no Ika" and "A Drunken Dream of Russia" (historical novels), "Dunhuang" and "Loulan" (West Region novels), "Asunaro Monogatari" and "Shirobanba" (autobiographical novels), and "My Mother's Diary" (I-novel).
