This is a U.S. Navy pea coat from the 1940s-50s. It's an old 10-button model, and the collar lining has the zigzag stitching, which is now omitted, giving it a handcrafted feel. It's in extremely rare condition, with the often-missing chin strap. The lining stencil is also a nice touch. The inside of the front pockets is corduroy. The fabric is very sturdy, and it shows almost no signs of wear. Although there may be some minor moth-eaten spots and age-related deterioration as seen in photos 8 and 9, due to its age (about 80 years old), the wool fabric is generally in good condition, and it's likely almost deadstock. There is a tear in the neck lining that is not visible from the outside, as shown in the photos. Actual measurements are as follows. Please allow for slight variations.
