This is a portable sake vessel for awamori, made by the Ryukyu-yaki Nakagami kiln, a traditional Okinawan craft. I fell in love with the beautiful design and purchased it during a trip to Okinawa. I haven't used it as a sake vessel, but have displayed it as interior decoration on a display shelf. The structure has a spout at the tip, a sake entrance in the center, and ears on both sides of the exterior for a string to pass through, and the vessel body is curved to fit the body. The blue fish design is very lovely. It can also be used as a vase for a single flower.
