I am offering a vintage commemorative stamp from China, "80th Anniversary of the Birth of Comrade Ren Bishi (Second Series)." Catalog Number: J.101 Issue Date: December 15, 1984 Issuing Authority: Ministry of Posts and Telecommunications of the People's Republic of China Ren Bishi (1904-1950) was born in Xiangyin County, Hunan Province. He joined the Chinese Socialist Youth League in 1920 and studied in the Soviet Union that same year. He joined the Chinese Communist Party in 1922. He returned to China in 1924 and became the head of the Organization Department of the Central Committee of the Chinese Communist Youth League the following year. He held positions such as Central Committee member and Politburo member, and served in key roles including Secretary of the Central Committee of the Chinese Communist Youth League, Head of the Organization Department of the Party Central Committee, Director of the General Political Department of the Eighth Route Army, and Secretary-General of the Party Central Committee. Throughout his life, Ren Bishi made particularly important contributions to the Chinese Communist Party's organizational activities, military activities, land reform, and youth work. He passed away in Beijing on October 27, 1950, due to a cerebral hemorrhage. Following the issuance of the first series of commemorative stamps on April 30th to mark the 80th anniversary of Ren Bishi's birth, the China Post and Telecommunications Department specially issued this second series of commemorative stamps to comprehensively represent his life and achievements. The design of this stamp is titled "During the Long March." This stamp depicts Ren Bishi after the Long March, arriving in Shaanbei in 1937.
