This is a Japanese-style drawstring bag (kinchaku) for children. It's made of bright gold brocade with an auspicious pattern. It's very light, so it should be easy for a 3-year-old to carry for Shichi-Go-San (a traditional Japanese festival for children). It's mainly for decoration and isn't very strong. It's only meant to hold small items like a handkerchief and tissues. I received this as part of a set of accessories for Shichi-Go-San, but I haven't used it.
