This is a mug made in 1978 in Coalport, England, to celebrate the Silver Jubilee of Queen Elizabeth II's reign. Only 2,500 were produced. It features gold trim and an elegant handle. The body is half-shaped and flares at the base, creating a lovely form. The design features a crown in the center, surrounded by a depiction of the coronation carriage and procession, in the colors of white, navy, and red, representing the British flag. It's a very British design. Although it's a mug, it's made of bone china, not earthenware, so it has a smooth feel and is very light. You'll appreciate the quality when you hold it (*^^*) Approximately 46 years have passed since its manufacture, but it is in good, clean condition. There is a slight paint omission or peeling of the gold trim near the base of the handle, but it's only noticeable upon close inspection (see the last photo). There are also a few minor scratches visible on the inside bottom when reflected in the light, but they are not visible in photos because they are on the bottom.
