I wrote the Four Gods on mini shikishi boards. The Four Gods are... Seiryu (Azure Dragon): A divine beast that protects the east, symbolizing spring and morning. Byakko (White Tiger): A divine beast that protects the west, symbolizing autumn and afternoon. Suzaku (Vermilion Bird): A divine beast that protects the south, symbolizing summer and noon. It is sometimes represented as a phoenix (Houou). Genbu (Black Tortoise): A divine beast that protects the north, symbolizing winter and night. It is often depicted as a turtle combined with a snake. I don't know about their effectiveness, but how about them as writings to protect your room or important space?
