Awarded the Order of the Precious Crown. In the late Taisho era, he was the first Japanese person to sketch the Himalayas, earning him the nickname "Himalayan Hosen." Hosen Yoshihara's specialties were "Himalayas" and "Daruma." In his later years, he excelled in calligraphy and ink painting. Hosen Yoshihara's real name was Okura Yoshihara. In his youth (early 20s), he went by the name Kanshu and specialized in Daruma. He was called "Suiko" in commemoration of the 2600th year of the Imperial Era.
