I'm not familiar with it, so I looked it up. It's a type of paper cutting art from China called "Jianzhi." Apparently, there's a custom of sticking them on windows and doors to decorate during New Year's and other occasions. (It's as thin as the "flower paper" used for folding flowers in kindergarten, and it's so incredibly delicate that I wonder how they attach it...) This level of intricate paper cutting with such thinness. Just imagining it makes my head spin. I wonder if the colors are dyed. I'm impressed by the skill of the creator. It's been in my house for about 30 years. My mother used to spread them out and look at them occasionally. There were 10 sheets each of "寿" (longevity), "福" (fortune), and birds, and 8 sheets of flowers. A total of 38 sheets. Each sheet is about 10cm in size, so I think they would look beautiful displayed in a photo frame or something similar, layered on a dark-colored mat. Some are indistinguishable, and the same design might be repeated, but since they are handmade, each one is likely different.
