A set of frogs and ceramic items. I believe these are Shigaraki-yaki frogs and tanuki (raccoon dogs). Pottery, good luck charms. They have been placed in the garden for a long time, so there is some dirt. Frogs are considered good luck charms, as "kaeru" (frog) can mean "to return" (okane ga kaeru - money returns), "to come back safely," and "young frog" (gaeru). Also, it is said that having six frogs ("roku kaeru") brings good fortune in business, as it sounds like "to welcome" (mukaeru) people. Shigaraki-yaki uses natural soil. Natural soil contains a lot of iron, and it is said that black spots and color unevenness are very likely to occur in this type of pottery. Please purchase only if you understand this.
