Purchased at the Hankyu Department Store D-LAB. There are no stains or fading. This is a Daruma doll by Yachiko Yoshida, a Daruma artist based in Fukuoka. She encountered Daruma dolls in the novel "The Night is Short, Walk On Girl" and became a collector. After collecting Daruma dolls from various regions, she began creating unprecedented, pop-style Daruma dolls because she wanted more people to know about them. The production process, including drying the washi paper and applying the brushstrokes, takes time for each step.
