This is a hand-painted, artist-made fukuro obi (formal obi). It depicts flowers like cherry blossoms swaying in the wind, along with chrysanthemums and autumn leaves. I fell in love with it at a used clothing store, despite some fading and stains. As shown in the photos, there is some fading and small spots on the back of the obi, so please refrain from purchasing if you are not accustomed to recycled kimonos or antiques. There is no noticeable fading on the parts that will be visible when worn, such as the otaiko (the folded part of the obi). I think this is a very atmospheric obi that is hard to find, so how about it if you are looking for one?
