Shio Mimotohiko's career began in 1976 when he studied guitar at the "Isato Nakagawa Guitar School," becoming one of its first graduates the following year. This means he is senior to Masahiro Kishi and Kotaro Oshio. He then started his own guitar school in Nagoya and published his instructional book, "Yoku Wakaru Folk Guitar Nyumon" (1989), with Shinko Music. In 1992, he collaborated with Isato Nakagawa on two demo performances for Nakagawa's instructional video, "Electric Acoustic Guitar Basic Knowledge," released by KMP Publishing, at Nakagawa's request. In 2017, he began his career as a solo guitarist with live performances. This work, "ONCE AND FOR ALL," was produced and completed with the support of Masahiro Kishi. Among the 14 tracks, "Orange Jam" features a duet between Shio and Kishi, both disciples of the Isato school, making it one of the highlights of the album. The recording took place at Music Well Studio in Osaka, known for its work on albums by Masahiro Kishi, Katsunori Sumide, and Kento Nishimura. Atsushi Toda, who is highly trusted by many solo guitarists, handled the engineering and mastering. Masahiro Kishi, who wrote the liner notes for this album, commented, "Having been involved in the creation of this album, I feel a sense of understanding when listening to the work, as we share common roots in our musical journeys and the guitarists who have influenced us."
