It is a Kamakura-bori (carved lacquerware) called "Sochomon Teguri-zara" (Double Butterfly Pattern Hand-carved Plate). It is still listed on the shop's website. It has been used a few times to hold sweets. There is no box. I will pack it carefully to prevent damage. It is a perfectly sized and beautiful plate. I am hesitant to sell it, but I would like to pass it on to someone who appreciates it.
