This is a work by Eichi Kanamori, a Living National Treasure and metal artist. It came up during the sorting of my father's belongings. He was acquainted with the artist during his lifetime. It appears to be a "mandarin orange" on a shikishi board (a stiff paper board often used for calligraphy and painting). It has been stored away for a long time.
