We harvest female bamboo (sasa bamboo) growing in the Shizuma River (formerly known as the Ginzangawa River) and use it to make shinobue and kagura flutes after drying it for over 3 years. ◇Description◇ A 6-note shinobue is a half-step x 2 lower than an 8-note shinobue, resulting in a range closer to the human voice. Songs with sharps (#) at the beginning of the score can be played smoothly without using many half-steps if transposed to C major. ◇Tuning◇ Tuned to the Western musical scale of 440Hz, using a tuner to match the high register (second octave), allowing for ensemble playing and performance with other instruments. Tuned to allow for the low register (first octave), high register (second octave), and very high register (third octave) to be played with breath control up to the second octave. ※Because natural sasa bamboo is used, the tone and playing feel vary from flute to flute. If you are already accustomed to other flute makers' flutes, you may need some time to get used to producing the very high register. Also, the sound produced may vary depending on the individual product and the player's technique.
