Rare, Highly Sought-After Masterpiece: Tamura Hiro Flamenco Guitar, Handmade, All Solid Woods This is a guitar by Hiroshi Tamura, whose reputation is well-known both domestically and internationally among flamenco guitar players. The neck is almost straight, the frets are in good condition, with no buzzing or dead spots. The string height is approximately 2.5mm for the 6th string and 2.0mm for the 1st string. In my subjective opinion, there are signs of use and scratches on the top, but otherwise, it's in relatively good condition for its age, with a remaining luster, and I think it can be considered a fairly beautiful item. The lacquer finish has weather checking, giving it a distinguished appearance. Although the number of good examples of these guitars is decreasing year by year, the golden age of Tamura guitars is considered to be from 1968 to 1972, and this instrument falls into that period. I've handled several Tamura guitars, and those without Mr. Tamura's signature often give a negative impression, as if he wasn't involved in the production or supervision. Especially after the company went bankrupt in 1975, the wood used seems to be different, to the point where you might question if it's even the same model. The fingerboards, in particular, often have peeling and are dyed, and the craftsmanship appears rough. After the bankruptcy, it seems like the people who remained in the workshop just focused on producing and selling as many as possible, regardless of quality. This instrument has a proper signature and a glossy, jet-black ebony fingerboard, indicating that good quality wood was used. There are no cracks in the pegs, which is common in old guitars, and they turn smoothly. There are no cracks in the wood or detached bracing, so it's in good condition. All solid woods, 665mm scale length, 50mm nut width. The neck grip is similar to Yamaha's trapezoid shape, with a flat back. In my subjective opinion, the sound is similar to an Asturias Flamenco Custom. Strings have been replaced, and the entire guitar has been cleaned. It will be shipped in a hard case.
