This is a chenille woven handkerchief featuring Snoopy! It has a pattern on both the front and back. Chenille weaving (also known as "shuniruu-ori") is a traditional German double-sided terry weave that uses "chenille yarn," meaning "caterpillar" in French, as the weft. This creates the same pattern on both sides, resulting in a soft and thick fabric. It is highly absorbent and durable, used for towels, handkerchiefs, bags, and more. Its texture becomes even softer with washing. In Japan, it is also called "saiori" (re-weaving), and the technique is passed down in Kōyaguchi, Wakayama Prefecture.
