This is an old Wajima-nuri lacquerware bowl. It's a beautiful piece with a gold rim, vermilion lacquer, and elegant pine, crane, and turtle chinkin (gold inlay). This is a so-called "ume-wan" (plum bowl), a generously sized bowl that can be used for various purposes. While it shows little sign of use, there is a slight scratch on the rim.
