This is a four-blade fan from Shibaura Seisakusho, the predecessor of Tokyo Shibaura Electric Co., Ltd., which was formed in September 1939 (Showa 14) by merging with Tokyo Electric Co., Ltd., originating from a telegraph machine factory established in 1875 (Meiji 8). The fan has a retro yet charming feel, with the heavy feel of iron and the spiral-shaped mesh. In those days, fans were among the first domestically produced items, along with irons. Before the war, they were affectionately called "electric fans" or "den-sen," but they were affected by the war's production halt and the spread of air conditioners, making them feel like items deeply rooted in Japanese life.
