Everyone loves the lily of the valley flower, and various brands have created items featuring it. This is a Hammersley lily of the valley trio, consisting of a two-tiered cup & saucer and a plate. Trios with this lily of the valley design are quite rare. The cup has an unusual two-tiered pedestal, so I've taken to calling it a "two-tiered cup." Lily of the valley cups, including those from Hammersley, are not produced in large quantities by any kiln. Perhaps everyone loves them so much that they don't want to part with them. It's in very beautiful condition, but it is used. Please understand that this is a vintage item, having been around for nearly 60 years. The British Hammersley kiln was founded in Stoke-on-Trent in 1887. Although it was absorbed by Spode in 1966, its craftsmanship continued to produce masterpieces without fading, and it is a brand that continues to be loved today.
