A set of a Wajima-nuri five-tiered jubako (with replacement lids) in a wooden box, and a turmeric cloth for storage. The glossy black lacquered surface features gold plum tree designs on all four sides, created using **chinkin (gold inlay)**. The inside is vermilion-lacquered, and the piece is made with the sturdy construction typical of Wajima-nuri. It comes with a dedicated wooden box. The date of purchase is written on the wooden box: "Showa 4th year, 2nd month, Yoshin Shincho" (Newly made in the auspicious second month of the Showa 4th year) Chinkin is a highly advanced technique unique to Wajima-nuri, where the lacquer surface is carved and gold is inlaid into the grooves. Currently, commissioning a new piece of similar quality using this technique would be expensive. There is a brief mark on the back of the jubako, and vermilion writing on the underside of the lid, both of which are believed to be from the manufacturing and management processes of the time. The name of the artist is unknown, so please check the images. A yellow turmeric-dyed cloth, newly purchased for storing this item, is included.
